League of Constance 15mm DBA Army

My stock of Mirliton Miniatures also allowed me to field a League of Constance Army.  This is one of the Later Swiss variants (Book IV, 79c) and depicts the army under Duke Rene of Lorraine, Victor of the battle of Nancy in 1477 where he smashed the Burgundians under Charles the Bold.

This army combines pike and (one) blade, with knights, including a double-based knights element.

Later Swiss 15mm DBA Army

Finally managed to finish a 15mm Later Swiss DBA army (list: Book IV 79a).  This has been a very long time in the making.  The figures are from Mirliton Miniatures, bought originally for the Field of Glory rules a few years ago.  I have opted for the double-based fast Blade option (6Bd) - not least because it allowed me to paint more flags!

The full army: Pike General plus 3 Pike, 2 Psiloi, and 6 double-based Fast Blade Halberdiers

The central stand was originally designed to be a Field of Glory General but is now a Fast Blades.

The flags are (from left to right) the cantons of Zug, Schwyz, Berne and Zurich

Trojan 15mm DBA Army

Not much time for painting so far this year, but I did manage to finish a Trojan 15mm DBA army which Andy kindly bought me for Xmas.  The figures are the new 'Z' range by Museum Miniatures (with the addition of one Essex miniatures base).  The Heroes in their light chariots dismount to fight as Blades. Just need some Achaeans now to oppose them.  And a suitable baggage/camp element.

The whole army, with alternate elements

The light troops - Archers and Slingers - plus Sarpedon's Lycians (Fast Blades)

Thessalian - Later Hoplite Greek - DBA Army

Next up is a Thessalian (Later Hoplite Greek) army, notable for slightly more cavalry or light horse and fewer hoplites, and with a cavalry General.  The hoplite figures are AB Miniatures; the cavalry, light horse and psiloi are Xyston.

Theban - Later Hoplite Greek - DBA Army

For a number of years I've been meaning to paint up the set of Later Hoplite Greek Armies for DBA using the lovely AB Miniatures hoplites.  First off the production line are the Thebans, complete with double-based Spear elements (ready for the Battle of Leuctra in 371BC).  I opted to go for variety in the shield blazons and not paint them all with the Hercules Club, the emblem of Thebes.  The cavalry and peltast figures are by Xyston.  Will have to get on and build a camp/baggage element.
