East Frankish 15mm DBA Army

Another army mostly using Museum Z miniatures, this time the East Frankish and the army of Otto the Great - DBA Book III/53.

European Bronze Age 15mm DBA Army

Inspired by Ian Pain's work (as seen on the DBA Facebook group), I recently completed a European Bronze Age army (Book I/14b) in 15mm using Copplestone Casting's fantasy barbarian range.  I went for a bit of a fantasy take on it rather than toning it down for DBA - woad face and body paint and big bronze axes and swords, and hints of Lord of the Rings in the shield designs.

The army itself has a Light Chariot or Blade general, a cavalry or blade element, a couple of other blades, two psiloi, and the rest auxilia.

Eastern Patrician Roman 15mm DBA Army

Having recently completed an Early Byzantine army, I added some additional figures from Gladiator Games (Equities, Clibanarii, Auxilia Palatina) to morph it into an Eastern Patrician Roman army - Book II/82.

Feudal English 15mm DBA Army

Recently finished a Feudal English DBA army (Book IV list  23).  Notwithstanding his reputation amongst English kings, I opted to paint the army as Edward II's host at the Battle of Bannockburn, 1314.  It was fun to research the heraldry of the knights there present.  The figures are by Essex (with some Corvus Belli peasants mixed in), painted in acrylics and gloss varnished as usual.

Sassanid Persian 15mm DBA Army

Over Easter I managed to finish painting a Sassanid DBA army that I've been working on (on and off) for nearly 2 years.  Aside from being interested in the army of Shaper I itself, I'm a big fan of AB Miniatures so have worked my way through their ancient ranges (these, plus the Classical Greeks - shame that they don't do more).

The photos below show the army (Book II/69b - 225 - 493 AD) with all the options.  The Asavaran bow and lance cavalry can be swapped for elephants, horse archers, psiloi, or Dailami/Hillmen auxilia.
