Scots Common 15mm DBA Army

After having painted up Edward II's English army for Bannockburn, I had to complete his opponent's force - Robert the Bruce and his Scots Common Army (Book IV/16).  These were a kind Xmas present from Andy.  The figures are from Donnington Miniatures although the anachronistic artillery piece (which is in the Army List but for the later Scots' armies) is from Essex, and there is an AB Sassanid slinger making up the numbers in the Solid Horde element.  As usual, the figures are gloss varnished.

Eastern Patrician Roman 15mm DBA Army

Having recently completed an Early Byzantine army, I added some additional figures from Gladiator Games (Equities, Clibanarii, Auxilia Palatina) to morph it into an Eastern Patrician Roman army - Book II/82.

Feudal English 15mm DBA Army

Recently finished a Feudal English DBA army (Book IV list  23).  Notwithstanding his reputation amongst English kings, I opted to paint the army as Edward II's host at the Battle of Bannockburn, 1314.  It was fun to research the heraldry of the knights there present.  The figures are by Essex (with some Corvus Belli peasants mixed in), painted in acrylics and gloss varnished as usual.

'Black Sheep' Turkoman 15mm DBA Army

Managed to (finally) finish this DBA army over the Christmas break - a 15mm 'Black Sheep' Turkoman army: DBA Book IV/77 dating from the late 14th Century.  The Black Sheep (Qara-Qoyunlu) were a confederation of Turkoman and Kurdish clans that ruled over Azerbaijan and Iraq.  The army is mostly armoured lance and bow -armed cavalry with some light horse and foot archers.  The figures are by Essex Miniatures, painted in acrylics and gloss varnished.
